Bend, Oregon a Special Place!

What a day!

The 18th Annual High Cascades 100 once again showcased why Bend, Oregon, remains one of North America's premier mountain bike destinations. Riders from across the United States and Canada gathered to tackle nearly 100 miles of legendary Central Oregon singletrack, technical descents, volcanic landscapes, and relentless climbing in what proved to be one of the most memorable editions in event history.

Months of coordination with the Deschutes National Forest, local logging contractors, volunteers, and community partners made it possible to open several iconic trail segments, including race-day-only access through Tumalo Ridge and the Dutchman–Swampy corridor. Combined with nearly 20 miles of sustained climbing into the high country, competitors experienced a course that was both demanding and unforgettable.

🥇 Kyle Trudeau (Tucson, AZ) — 6:41:59

🥈 Stefano Barberi (Reno, NV) — 6:51:59

🥉 Adam Oliver (Salt Lake City, UT) — 7:02:51

Kyle Trudeau averaged an impressive 14.2 mph over the rugged course, putting together a commanding ride against one of the strongest fields the event has seen.

Overall Women's Podium

🥇 Jennifer Burtner (Bend, OR) — 9:34:32

🥈 Maya Holzman (Bend, OR) — 9:43:14

🥉 Rebecca Book (Seattle, WA) — 9:49:09 (Singlespeed)

One of the most remarkable performances of the day came from Rebecca Book, who not only captured the Singlespeed Women's title but also finished third overall among all women, proving that determination and strength can more than overcome the challenge of racing without gears.

Outstanding Performances

The depth of competition was evident throughout every division.

• Dray Thompson claimed the Singlespeed Men's title in 8:08:31.
• Joshua Johnston won the highly competitive 40–49 Men's division in 7:28:31.
• Evan Plews led the 50–59 Men's category with an outstanding 7:13:04, one of the fastest rides of the day.
• Pat Doyle demonstrated that endurance knows no age, winning the 60+ Men's division in 8:31:16
