Safety
Safety
No TT Bars or Recumbants please! Please use a blinking taillight for your own safety.
Traffic and Cars, loose corners, Stop Signs, Dogs, Elk and other things we can or cant control. Rules of the road at all times from the start to the finish!
We have a great track record at the Oregon Gran Fondo with one only a few spills that required EMS. Your are our #1 concern and with that being said we have over 20 Ham Radio Operators from the South Lane Ametuer Radio Operators group on course to attempt to break through the hills and ravines. We have first aid on hand at the finish and on course within an hr in most cases we can get to you with dispatch from Cottage Grove or other counties that this event travels through. With little to no cell service only 5 miles west of Cottage Grove you are in a very remote area of Western Oregon.
The usual way a crash goes is:
Riders are coming into the aid station and telling race personal that someone is messed up and not moving or holding an arm or knee. The next rider says the person is sitting up, followed by the next person says he/she is on their bike, then riders say nothing as this person is OK and comes to the aid station to get a ride out or continues.
Now that's the normal situation, in the case of an accident that appears to be dangerous, please get the riders plate # to report to official race personnel the on course and approximate distance to.
결승점에서 긁힌 것 이상으로 의료 조치를 받아야 하는 경우 알려주십시오. DNF(Did Not Finish)를 한 경우에는 기록 담당관에게 번호판 번호를 보고하고 결승선을 통과하지 마십시오.
Helmets required anytime you are on your bike at this event. Please download the route to your GPS, or smart phone
