Please park through the yellow gate and turn around and park on the side of the road facing out.

PLEASE NOTE DO NOT TOW A TRAILER TO THIS AREA. Camping is only reservable through the BLM and was gone by January!

The Story of Alsea Falls

This is the series finals and the point value is 5% more to end this years series!

We will take you up and drop you down some of the coolest trails in the PNW managed and supported by Team Dirt.

Founded by Mike Ripley in 2007 with some solid friends to bring Team Dirt into existence this group is still passionate about your trail enjoyment. In fact after 10 years I stepped away from being the lead of Team Dirt or Chair and now only attempt to compliment or assist when asked.

Today the effort is still as big as before with 5000 or more hrs each year to build and maintain this area.

Lets race and have a fantastic day with tough climbs to sort you out and challenging and fun trails to send you back downhill all the way to the finish.

6.00 from all entries goes back into the trails through the BLM.

If you love to ride or race mountain bikes come to Alsea Falls.

Remember Alsea Falls is 8 degree's cooler, but we will still start early to beat the heat as much as possible.

DIRECTIONS

Two ways to drive to the Alsea Falls Recreation area

HWY 99 to Alpine to Alsea Falls or the backside or from the west via the town of Alsea and Alsea Deadwood HWY to South Fork rd and up to the Falls.

90% come from HWY 99.

From PDX 2 hrs 30 minutes
From Bend 3 Hrs 15 Minutes

From Eugene 1 hr

From Corvallis 45 Minutes

Curvy narrow paved road leading in with log trucks and other road cyclists so use caution

Now part of the Marys Peak to the Pacific Scenic Byway

SAFETY

Downed riders are always a concern whether the race is an XC or Road event or any situation that may come up where you may need to stop to attend to a rider. Safety is important and we have first aid on hand at the finish and on course to provide basic first aid. Please remember that the roads may have an official or emergency vehicle on the course, so stay alert to your surroundings and ride safe! Also no cell air very limited cell service with the nearest medical in Monroe, Oregon or 10 miles east.

The nature of racing in the woods means that emergency services at least thirty or more minutes and most likely an hr to get to your position. Make sure to assist a rider and check on anyone that goes down. Over the years, we have had thousand of racers that have raced and even though 99% done require post race treatment, in some cases it happens. This is a testament to the caring attitude and general nature of mountain biking and a softer landing in most cases.

The usual way a crash goes is:

Riders are coming into the lap point or aid station and telling race personal that someone is messed up and not moving or holding an arm or knee. The next rider says the person is sitting up, followed by the next person says he/she is on their bike, then riders say nothing as this person is OK and comes to the aid station to get a ride out or continues. Now that’s the normal situation, in the case of an accident that appears to be dangerous, please get the riders plate # to report to official race personnel the on course and approximate distance to.

Please let us know if you need to seek medical attention beyond a scrape at the finish area and if you do DNF (Did not Finish) please report your plate number to the scoring officials and do not cross the finish line

Helmets required anytime you are on your bike at this event. This is an OBRA event
